The core of each of us is whole and perfect.... Pause, take a deep breath, and let yourself imagine this for a second…
This guidance of inner wholeness centers our work together. Whatever parts of you feel stuck, lost, confused, stressed… I want you to know there is hope, and you can find some clarity.
Talk therapy works because we are in relationship with one another, and in this relationship, we foster a sense of trust and understanding. A sense of connection is created, and this grounds us in the process of remembering and connecting with our own wholeness.
One of the key pieces in our time together will be embracing self-compassion. As human beings, we experience suffering, and we are not alone in our suffering. Suffering is universal. May we be kind to ourselves. Together, we will discover what arises to help orient you to a more solid and self-compassionate way of being.
My clinical training and experience will give us the tools and foundation to incorporate a variety of modalities in our sessions, including (but not limited to): Internal Family Systems, EMDR, somatic practices, cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness. Other modalities will be integrated as needed (including Forest Bathing), creating a holistic and organic feel to the process.
My goal is to create a safe space for you, and my approach is nonjudgmental. LGBTQ+ individuals are welcomed, and therapy affirms and validates all gender identities and sexual orientations.
What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy, often called talk therapy, aims to help you understand and manage emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges that are causing distress. Through thoughtful and compassionate conversations, we explore your thoughts, feelings, and patterns of behavior to gain insight, develop coping skills, and create positive change. This is all done at your pace, and in the context of a trusting, therapeutic relationship.
I welcome you to my practice as you are; therapy is not a place where you have to pretend. Many of us move through the world operating under automatic adaptations to social systems and past experiences that no longer serve us as adults. Many of these were hurtful experiences or relationships, and we seek healing in a supportive, welcoming environment.
Psychotherapy has proven beneficial for issues like anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and personal growth, fostering greater self-awareness and boosting emotional resilience.
